Star Trek: Strange New Worlds concludes season 4, announces final season

The fourth season of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds concluded with the episode “Tomorrow’s Enterprise,” a time-travel narrative centered on Nyota Uhura. The episode features a white hole anomaly that allows the current Uhura to communicate with a version of herself from one year in the future. This future timeline reveals significant character shifts: James T. Kirk has assumed command of the Enterprise, Spock serves as first officer, and Christopher Pike has been promoted to Admiral.

Showrunners Akiva Goldsman and Henry Alonso Myers have confirmed that the fifth season will be the series' final chapter. They noted that the upcoming season will lean more heavily into the aesthetic and storytelling style of The Original Series, aiming for a “classic sense of Trek.” The final season is expected to introduce characters such as Dr. Leonard “Bones” McCoy and Hikaru Sulu as the series moves closer to the established timeline of the original franchise.

Production for the fifth season has reportedly concluded as of December 2025, with a potential release window in 2027. The season 4 finale also teased potential character developments or tragedies for La’an Noonien-Singh and Una Chin-Riley, as well as the departure of Ortegas from the main crew.
