Star Wars: Galactic Racer announced with roguelite campaign and Burnout-inspired gameplay
Fuse Games, staffed by former Criterion developers, unveiled the upcoming Star Wars: Galactic Racer. The racing title blends the Star Wars universe with a roguelite‑style campaign where player choices on a galaxy map affect rewards and can end a run if too many races are failed.
The gameplay draws heavily from Burnout and Need for Speed, featuring eliminator races, takedowns, slow‑motion crash replays and a ramjet boost that can cause spectacular crashes. The game will launch on 6 October 2026 for PC, Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5, supporting DLSS 4.5 and ray‑reconstruction technologies.
The title promises a mix of arcade speed, vehicle customization across land, skim and speeder‑bike classes, and a narrative centered on racer Shade joining a post‑Empire illegal racing league.
