Star Wars: Galactic Racer set for Oct 6 release with roguelite mode and Burnout‑style action

Star Wars: Galactic Racer, developed by Fuse Games—a studio formed by former Criterion and Burnout veterans—will launch on October 6, 2026 for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Built on Unreal Engine 5, the game uses Nanite and Lumen to deliver high‑fidelity planetary tracks and aims for a steady 60 fps experience across consoles.

The title combines traditional Star Wars podracing with a roguelite progression system. Players assume the role of Shade, a masked racer challenging champion Kestar Bool in a Galactic League tour. Each run is governed by League Tokens; losing a token forces a restart while unlocked parts and upgrades persist, encouraging strategic vehicle builds. Three chassis are available—landspeeder, speeder bike and skim speeder—each offering distinct handling and risk‑reward dynamics, including high‑risk Ramjet boosts that can overheat.

Beyond racing, the game features pre‑race paddock areas for on‑foot exploration, character interaction and vehicle customization, with developers citing “trillions” of possible part combinations. Environmental hazards such as molten lava or extreme cold affect vehicle performance, adding another layer of tactical depth. Review previews highlight the aggressive, Burnout‑inspired crash physics and the dramatic camera work that accentuates high‑speed collisions.
