Xbox announces Gears of War: E-Day limited edition controllers

Microsoft has announced a new line of themed accessories to celebrate the upcoming release of Gears of War: E-Day. The collection features two distinct Xbox Wireless Controller designs and an officially licensed 8BitDo Ultimate Charging Dock.

The primary Gears of War: E-Day Limited Edition controller features a battle-worn aesthetic inspired by the game’s Emergence Day setting. It includes 3D-molded and laser-etched details mimicking cracked asphalt with glowing red fissures, exposing the Crimson Omen. The hardware includes blacked-out ABXY buttons with a transparent red X button, matching red triggers, and a dark silver metallic COG tag on the battery door.

A second customizable option will be available through Xbox Design Lab starting September 30. This version features artwork by heavy metal illustrator Luke Preece, depicting two crossed Chainsaw Lancers and skulls. The Design Lab option allows users to further personalize elements such as button styles and grips.

The standard limited edition controller is available for pre-order at a price of $89.99 (£84.99 / €89.99). The Gears of War: E-Day game is scheduled for release on October 6, 2026, for Xbox Series X|S and PC, and will be available on Xbox Game Pass on day one.
