Star Wars: Magellan leaked gameplay reveals cancelled action RPG
Leaked footage and artwork have emerged revealing details of Star Wars: Magellan, a previously unannounced action RPG that was cancelled in 2025. The project was being developed by Echtra Games, a studio founded by former Blizzard developers and known for Torchlight 3, before it was shuttered following a strategic realignment by Zynga and its parent company, Take-Two Interactive.
Developed using Unreal Engine 5, the game was intended for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. The leaked materials describe a third-person multiplayer loot-shooter featuring distinct character classes, including Jedi and Mandalorians. Specific gameplay elements mentioned include a jetpack for high mobility, lightsaber combat, and an “NPC Bond System” designed to allow players to develop relationships with non-player characters despite the multiplayer focus.
While the game will not be released, the leak provides a rare look at the project's art direction and mechanics, which reportedly blended elements of classic Star Wars lore with loot-driven progression.
