Star Wars: The Old Republic version 8.0 adds new expansion and difficulty modes

The upcoming version 8.0 update for Star Wars: The Old Republic introduces three selectable difficulty settings – Story, Veteran and Master – that modify damage taken, healing received and experience gains for open‑world content. Players can choose a difficulty individually, allowing mixed‑difficulty groups to play together.

The update also brings a new expansion set on Ryloth, the Twi'lek homeworld, raising the maximum character level to 85. It adds a new raid called “Children of Nul,” new zones aboard Darth Nul’s massive ship, and class ability upgrades that become available at level 83. The changes were announced during a summer livestream on 30 July 2026, hosted by lead game producer Eric Musco and senior community manager Jackie.
