Star Wars Zero Company released by Bit Reactor and EA

Electronic Arts has released Star Wars Zero Company, a tactical strategy game developed by Bit Reactor. The title is heavily inspired by the XCOM series, a connection reinforced by the involvement of former XCOM art director Greg Foertsch.

Set during the final months of the Clone Wars, the game follows Captain Hawks, a former Republic officer leading a mercenary group known as Zero Company. The narrative involves the group encountering a mysterious cult called the Infinite Coil, led by Kundri Fathom, which seeks to spread a plague across the galaxy.

While the gameplay and character depth are noted as strengths, the release faces technical challenges. Reviewers have highlighted issues such as janky camera movements, graphical oddities, and combat pauses. Furthermore, Bit Reactor reportedly laid off approximately 80% of its staff following development, raising concerns regarding the availability of future patches and refinements, particularly for the PC version.
