Trajko Bojkovski sentenced to life imprisonment for serial killings
A court in Kumanovo, North Macedonia, has sentenced 26-year-old Trajko Bojkovski to life imprisonment for four murders and two attempted murders. The crimes, committed between January 2025 and February 2026 in the Staro Nagoričane municipality, targeted elderly and vulnerable women.
Presiding Judge Mirsad Suroji described the case as one of the most complex and harrowing in the country’s recent judicial history. The court found that Bojkovski acted with extreme deviance, noting that the killings were motivated by necrophilic impulses and included sexual deviancy toward the victims after death. The judge emphasized that the sentence aims for permanent isolation from society rather than rehabilitation, as the defendant showed a complete lack of empathy or remorse.
Prosecutor Ljubomir Lape stated that the verdict correctly reflects the gravity of the crimes. Evidence used to secure the conviction included biological and DNA traces, psychiatric evaluations, and survivor testimony. Bojkovski remains in custody pending the finality of the verdict.
