Stara Zagora receives nearly 150 million euros for industrial transformation
The Stara Zagora region is undergoing an economic and industrial transformation, supported by nearly 150 million euros from the Just Transition Fund. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy, Investment and Industry Alexander Pulev highlighted the region's potential to become an industrial hub due to its transport connectivity, energy security, and skilled workforce.
These funds are intended to develop industrial infrastructure and create sustainable jobs, moving the region away from coal dependency toward high-value-added industries.
In a related effort toward energy efficiency, the Stara Zagora Municipality has launched a project to renovate a residential building in the Kazanski district. The project, valued at approximately 2.37 million euros, aims to improve the building's energy class from E to B, reducing energy poverty and costs for residents through thermal insulation and window replacements.
