Stara Zagora to celebrate city day with diverse cultural program

Stara Zagora will celebrate its city day on October 5 with an extensive program of cultural, literary, sporting, and musical events. The festivities begin on October 1 with the 13th National Poetry Contest ‘Academician Nikolay Liliev’ awards ceremony at the Zahariy Knyazheski Regional Library.

On October 2, the selection of the 30th mayor of Mlada Zagora will take place. Sporting activities and the 21st Automobile Retro Assembly are scheduled for October 3. The official city day on October 5 will include a prayer service at St. Nicholas Cathedral, a ceremony at the Defenders of Stara Zagora monument, a municipal council session, the raising of the national flag, and the presentation of the symbolic key to the city.

The celebrations will culminate with a concert by Vladimir Ampov (Grafa) on the municipal square. Other scheduled performances include ‘Colorful Strokes from Bulgaria’, a musical spectacle titled ‘Bridge Between Times’, and a concert by the Three Bulgarian Tenors.
