Stara Zagora to host Eighth National Epidemiology Conference

Stara Zagora will host the Eighth National Conference on Epidemiology from September 25 to 27, 2026. Organized by the Bulgarian Scientific Society of Epidemiology of Infectious and Non-infectious Diseases (BNDEINB) and the Medical University of Plovdiv, the forum is themed ‘One Health in a Dynamic Global World’.

The event will bring together a diverse group of experts, including epidemiologists, infectious disease specialists, microbiologists, parasitologists, public health professionals, and veterinarians. Discussions will focus on the interconnectedness of human, animal, and environmental health.

Key topics include epidemic outbreaks, re-emerging infectious diseases, viral hepatitis, HIV/AIDS, vaccine prevention, antimicrobial resistance, and zoonoses. Specific attention will also be given to measles trends in Bulgaria, HPV infections, and respiratory disease prevention. The program will also include a recognition of Academician Prof. Dr. William Monev for his scientific contributions to Bulgarian epidemiology.
