Starachowice expands healthcare and palliative support services
Starachowice is enhancing local support for vulnerable populations through new healthcare initiatives and community actions. As part of the ‘Fields of Hope’ campaign, students at Primary School No. 10 planted daffodils, a symbol of solidarity with terminally ill patients, to support palliative care efforts.
Additionally, the city is establishing a new branch of the Community Self-Help Home specifically for individuals with Alzheimer’s disease and other chronic mental health disorders. Located in a renovated building on Żeromskiego Street, the facility will accommodate 30 patients for eight-hour daily stays, including meals. The project, costing approximately 6 million PLN, has been supported by 3.6 million PLN in government funding. Registration for the center is scheduled to begin in November.
