Starachowice Hospital expands long-term care capacity
The Long-term Care Facility (ZOL) at the hospital in Starachowice is undergoing an expansion to increase its capacity to 90 patients. The project, located in the former hospital laundry building, will add 50 beds, nearly doubling the current capacity.
The facility will feature two floors including administrative offices, medical and nursing rooms, a modern rehabilitation hall, a psychotherapy office, and various patient rooms including 40 double rooms, five single rooms, and five isolation rooms, all equipped with bathrooms. Additional amenities will include a diagnostic-treatment room, a family visiting room, and a social area with a kitchenette.
The total cost of the works exceeds 24.2 million PLN. Funding includes 20 million PLN from the National Recovery Plan and 600,000 PLN from the Starachowice municipality. Local officials noted the importance of this investment given the current financial challenges facing many healthcare facilities across the country. Patients are expected to be able to receive treatment at the ward starting in mid-2025.
