Starbucks Japan highlights art-focused stores and regional crafts
Starbucks Coffee Japan has introduced eight locations across the country that emphasize unique artistic experiences and local cultural integration. These stores range from cafe-gallery hybrids to locations featuring traditional Japanese crafts.
In Tokyo, the Yanaka Gotensaka location serves as a cafe and art gallery managed by ArtSticker, showcasing rotating works from emerging artists. The Teavana Store in Ginza Marronnier Street features specialized tea-themed installations by artists such as Mariko Kobayashi and Nozomi Fujita.
Regional locations incorporate local heritage through various mediums. The Kanazawa Rinto West Exit store features a sculpture by Yodogawa Technique made from discarded Kutani ware and drift debris. In Echizen, the Takefu Chuo Park store utilizes traditional Echizen Washi paper on its bar counters. Other notable sites include the Kyoto BAL location, which functions as a collective atelier for over 30 artists, and the Hokkaido Ballpark F Village store, which features murals by OVER ALLs depicting local landscapes and baseball themes.
