Starbucks Coffee Japan has announced a major collaboration with Pokémon, scheduled to launch on September 30, 2026. The campaign, themed “Connection Over The Coffee Adventures,” features a new beverage and a collection of 41 merchandise items.

The centerpiece of the collaboration is the “Pikachu Honey Cream Latte,” a drink created by barista Junko Nitta. Her recipe won the “Pokémon + Starbucks Barista Battle,” a competition that drew over 700 entries from baristas across Japan. The latte uses honey and caramel to mimic Pikachu’s yellow color and includes heart-shaped toppings to represent the character’s red cheeks.

The merchandise collection includes reusable cups, stainless steel bottles, tumblers, tote bags, aprons, and Starbucks Cards, all featuring original artwork by illustrator Hikaru Ichijo. The artwork depicts various Pokémon interacting with baristas and customers. Due to high demand and concerns regarding scalping, Starbucks may implement purchase limits during the initial release period.
