Starbucks Korea launches Sangju Shine Muscat Ade to support small businesses

Starbucks Korea has launched its eighth win-win beverage initiative, the ‘Sangju Shine Muscat Ade,’ to support local farmers and small business cafe owners. Starting September 15, the sparkling drink—made with Shine Muscat grapes from Sangju, Gyeongsangbuk-do, and aloe vera—will be available at 122 small business cafes across South Korea, including locations in Seoul, Gyeonggi, Busan, Gwangju, and Incheon.

As part of the program, Starbucks is providing the recipes and raw materials for 60,000 servings free of charge to participating cafes. This initiative aims to enhance the menu competitiveness of small businesses while promoting regional agricultural products.

Since entering a win-win agreement with the Win-Win Growth Committee and the National Cafe Owners Cooperative in March 2022, Starbucks has supported approximately 1,120 small business cafes, providing a cumulative total of 500,000 beverages. Additionally, the company has provided 30 million won for facility repairs to assist cafes affected by aging infrastructure or natural disasters. Over the past five years, Starbucks' total support for small business cafes, including ingredients and maintenance, has reached approximately 1 billion won.
