STARCARES completes sports court renovation in Sukhothai, Thailand

STARCARES has completed a sports court renovation project at Ban Nam Lat School in Sukhothai, Thailand. The facility is designed as a multi-use space to support both educational and community needs.

During weekdays, the court serves 62 students for physical education and sports activities. On weekends and after school hours, the space opens to local residents, providing recreational access to approximately 600 people across 180 households. This model addresses the lack of recreational infrastructure in rural Sukhothai, where school grounds often serve as the primary gathering points for villagers.

To ensure the long-term utility of the infrastructure, STARCARES funds maintenance for its courts every one to two years. This initiative is part of a broader effort by the organization to revive shared spaces in rural communities, following similar principles applied to projects in Vietnam, the Philippines, and Nigeria.
