Starflyer leads Japanese airline punctuality rankings

Data released by the Japan Civil Aviation Bureau (JCAB) regarding aviation service performance for the October–December 2025 period shows that Starflyer was the only carrier among ten major Japanese airlines to achieve both on-time departure and arrival rates exceeding 90%.

Starflyer recorded an on-time departure rate of 94.66% and an on-time arrival rate of 94.15%. In contrast, Jetstar Japan had the lowest on-time departure rate at 76.86%, while Air Do recorded the lowest on-time arrival rate at 76.11%.

Overall, the ten surveyed airlines saw a decline in performance compared to previous metrics, with the average delay rate rising to 17.39% and the cancellation rate increasing to 1.31%. Equipment management was cited as the primary cause for both delays and cancellations across most carriers.
