Stargard councilor seeks free waste bags for schools

In Stargard, local councilor Krzysztof Kozłowski is calling for the city to provide free waste bags and regular bio-waste collection for schools and kindergartens. Currently, these educational institutions must use their own budgets to purchase bags for cleaning fallen leaves from playgrounds, sidewalks, and green areas.

Kozłowski noted that leaves often blow in from trees located on adjacent public roads, yet the responsibility and cost for cleanup fall on the schools. He emphasized that regular leaf removal is essential for the safety of children, parents, and staff, as wet leaves can cause slips and falls. While the councilor seeks a permanent solution to relieve school budgets, city officials have stated that current waste management regulations are sufficient and that additional support would require municipal funds.
