Stargard hospital considers separating intoxicated patients from emergency ward

The management of a hospital in Stargard is considering structural changes to the Emergency Department (SOR) to address patient coexistence issues. Currently, children, seniors, and intoxicated or homeless individuals wait for medical assistance in a shared space.

During a recent City Council session, Director Katarzyna Kazojć reported that the hospital has secured 12 new doctors to stabilize the department following a challenging summer period. While the hospital is exploring ways to create an isolated yet visible area for intoxicated patients to improve conditions and address resident complaints regarding odors and environment, the director emphasized that intoxication status will not dictate the priority of medical care.
