Stargard intersection upgrade faces funding refusal from regional government

The West Pomeranian Voivodeship has declined to co-finance the reconstruction of a major intersection in Stargard, involving Staszica, Popiela, and Bolesław Krzywoustego streets. While the city possesses the necessary design and cost documentation to convert the intersection into a roundabout, the regional government stated it sees no justification for participating in the costs.

According to Vice-Marshal Jakub Kowalik, the decision is based on plans to divert transit traffic away from the dense urban areas of Stargard. The regional authorities believe that existing agreements to reroute traffic will improve safety, making the local intersection upgrade unnecessary from their budgetary perspective.
