On 30 July 2026 President Karol Nawrocki signed five statutes. One of them amends the Education Law to prohibit pupils in public and private primary schools and kindergartens from using mobile phones and other electronic devices that can communicate, record sound or image. The ban starts on 1 September 2026 and applies during lessons, breaks and any school‑organised activities, including outdoor physical‑education classes. Exceptions are allowed when a teacher deems a device necessary for instruction, when urgent contact with parents is required, in cases of health or safety threats, or with the director’s consent for illness, disability or other special needs. Schools may create secure storage for confiscated devices and may impose disciplinary measures. The remaining four statutes amend the Water Law, the Labour Code (strengthening anti‑mobbing provisions), the Public‑Benefit Activity regulations and the Public‑Offering rules, with part of the package referred to the Constitutional Tribunal for secondary review.
