StarHub leads Singapore broadband performance in Q2

StarHub has emerged as the leader in Singapore’s fixed broadband market for the second quarter, according to a report by Opensignal. The telecommunications company secured top rankings in several key performance categories, including reliability, consistent quality, upload speed, and video experience.

In terms of reliability, StarHub scored 754 out of 1,000, surpassing MyRepublic (715) and Singtel (702). The company also achieved an 86% score for consistent quality, which measures a connection's ability to meet performance thresholds for activities such as gaming, video calls, and high-definition video. StarHub led in upload speeds with an average of 111 Mbps and recorded the highest video experience score at 76.4 out of 100.

Singtel maintained its lead in download speeds, recording an average of 248 Mbps, which was 2.4% higher than StarHub’s 242.1 Mbps. The Opensignal report analyzed data from six providers: M1, MyRepublic, SIMBA, Singtel, StarHub, and ViewQwest. Data indicates that fibre accounts for 99.8% of fixed broadband connections in Singapore.
