Stari grad Đurđevac undergoes historic wall reconstruction

Reconstruction work is underway on the historic walls of the Stari grad fortress in Đurđevac to restore its original appearance. Mayor Hrvoje Janči stated that the construction of a defensive tower is currently in progress and expected to be completed in the coming days.

The revitalization project is funded by over 1.3 million euros, sourced from a state budget amendment submitted by Željko Lacković. Beyond restoring the historical silhouette, the project aims to enhance local tourism through the development of the Podravinoteka, which will feature local products, as well as new walkways, lighting, a stage, and two lakes.
