Stari Jankovci municipality signs €3 million green‑transition deal and expands local infrastructure
A delegation of the Serbian community of Vukovar‑Srijem County, led by county prefect Srđan Jeremić, visited the municipality of Stari Jankovci to review projects completed in the past year. The municipality has built bicycle and pedestrian routes, renovated playgrounds and sports facilities, and greened public spaces across its settlements. A recent green‑transition contract worth over €3 million was signed to fund further works, including an 11‑km bike path, new football club buildings in Sremske Lazare and Orolik, and the renovation of the community centre in Sremske Lazare. The ambulatory in Lazare, closed for three years after storm damage, was fully repaired and reopened on 15 July. Officials highlighted ongoing plans for drainage networks and additional infrastructure through 2027. The meeting was attended by local officials, including municipal head Dragan Sudarević and representatives of the Serbian minority council.
