Starlink antennas arson investigation near Sofia

Two foreign nationals, aged 20 and 21, have been detained on suspicion of arson targeting Starlink antennas at a secret facility near Sofia. The suspects, who hold German passports, reportedly entered Bulgaria legally through the Kulata border crossing.

The incident occurred during the night of October 9–10, resulting in the burning of 11 out of 17 antennas used for communication with the SpaceX Starlink satellite system. The facility is located in the vicinity of the 'Plana' teleport.

Prime Minister Rumen Radev has confirmed that an investigation is underway and has called for patience while awaiting the results. No official charges or requests for permanent arrest have been publicly announced at this time.
