Starlink delays India launch amid security concerns while Brazil offers discounted Mini kit

India has put the approval of Starlink’s satellite internet service on hold, with officials in the interior ministry citing security worries that the terminals could be used in U.S. operations against Iran. The pause leaves the country’s large market uncertain for SpaceX, which is seeking to install ten ground gateways and address data‑localisation demands before a launch can proceed.

In Brazil, the portable Starlink Mini kit was sold on Mercado Livre at a 41% discount, priced at R$749.90. The lightweight hardware, which delivers speeds above 100 Mbps, targets users in remote or mobile settings such as rural areas, motorhomes and boats. Buyers must still subscribe to a monthly service plan, starting around R$230, but the price cut makes satellite broadband more accessible and intensifies competition with other providers.
