Starlink technology expands enterprise connectivity in Uganda and Lesotho

Telecommunications providers in Uganda and Lesotho are expanding their enterprise service offerings through partnerships involving Starlink’s Low-Earth-Orbit (LEO) satellite technology.

In Uganda, MTN Uganda has partnered with Starlink to provide satellite-enabled connectivity to enterprise customers in remote and underserved areas. This initiative aims to support sectors such as healthcare, education, agriculture, and government services where traditional terrestrial infrastructure is difficult to deploy. The move is part of a broader MTN Group strategy to use satellite technology as a complementary layer to existing mobile and fiber networks.

Similarly, Vodacom Lesotho has launched an Enterprise Satellite Connectivity solution powered by Starlink. The managed broadband service is designed to provide reliable primary and backup connectivity for public institutions and businesses operating in challenging geographic environments. The service seeks to enhance national digital resilience by ensuring business continuity in sectors like financial services, tourism, and construction.
