Stars of ‘Romance in the Rain’ reunite after 25 years in Macau

Stars Lin Xinru, Su Youpeng, and Gu Jucheng reunited on stage at the Galaxy Macau Theatre on September 20 during the ‘Moonlight over the Bay’ 2026 music festival. The trio performed the theme song from the classic 2001 television series ‘Romance in the Rain’ (Tân Dòng Sông Ly Biệt).

This marks the first time in 25 years that the three actors have appeared together, recreating the iconic personas of their characters: Ru Ping, Du Fei, and He Shu Huan. While the reunion sparked significant nostalgia and was described by social media users as a ‘reunion of the century,’ many fans expressed regret over the absence of Zhao Wei, who played the central character Lu Yiping.

The original series, set in 1930s Shanghai, remains one of Qiong Yao’s most beloved works across Asia.
