Stars Reach enters Steam Early Access amid mixed player reception

Playable Worlds has launched the Early Access version of its science fiction sandbox MMO, ‘Stars Reach’, on Steam. Developed by a studio led by Raph Koster, known for his work on ‘Ultima Online’ and ‘Star Wars Galaxies’, the game focuses on terraforming and survival in a vast universe with environmental simulations.

Despite the ambitious scope, the launch has met with mixed reactions from the community. While the developers communicated that the release is an unfinished alpha version, players have reported significant technical issues, including bugs affecting character models, user interface problems, and poor performance even on high-end hardware. As of the launch period, the game has seen a relatively low positive review rating on Steam.
