StarTech crisis: Italian officials discuss extraordinary administration
Italian Minister of Enterprises and Made in Italy, Adolfo Urso, met with StarTech trade unions in Trieste to discuss the future of the electronics manufacturer specializing in telecommunications equipment. The meeting, attended by Friuli Venezia Giulia President Massimiliano Fedriga, focused on protecting jobs and finding an industrial solution for the site following the failure of a previously announced sale project.
Urso stated that extraordinary administration may be the only way to identify a suitable industrial partner to sustain the company. He called for full transparency from the current ownership, noting that necessary information has not yet been provided.
Political figures, including MP Debora Serracchiani, have expressed support for the extraordinary administration route. Serracchiani argued that moving the current ownership out of the company is essential to creating concrete prospects for a relaunch and saving the business.
