Startup accelerators announce new application windows for 2027

Two separate business acceleration and pitch opportunities have been announced for early-stage technology startups.

SiGMA Africa has opened applications for its 2027 Africa Startup Pitch in Cape Town. The competition targets companies in sectors such as fintech, gaming technology, artificial intelligence, blockchain, and esports. Selected startups will have the opportunity to present to venture capital investors and industry executives. Applications are open until January 6, with the live pitch competition scheduled for February 17, 2027.

In the United Kingdom, the Catalyst accelerator has called for new applicants for its spring 2027 programme. Based at Southampton Science Park, the fully funded programme provides mentoring, workshops, and connections to help founders prepare for investment. The accelerator reports a track record of helping businesses raise £75 million in investment capital. Applications for the next cohort close on December 11, 2026.
