Staškovo school stabbing leaves two dead, including teacher and student
A stabbing at a primary school in Staškovo, Slovakia, has resulted in two deaths. The victims include a 61-year-old teacher and a 13-year-old female student who succumbed to her injuries in a hospital in Martin.
The attack was carried out by a 13-year-old male student. According to reports, the perpetrator had previously shared disturbing content online, including an image of a concentration camp featuring photos of teachers. The motive is believed to be retaliation against a classmate.
A 44-year-old teacher was also injured in the attack but is reported to be in stable condition. While criminal proceedings for premeditated murder have been initiated, the 13-year-old attacker cannot be criminally prosecuted or sentenced under Slovak law, as the age of criminal responsibility is 14.
