STASY transports 35,000 spectators via Metro after OAKA concert
STASY reported that approximately 35,000 spectators were transported via the Athens Metro Line 1 following a concert at OAKA. To manage the increased demand, 19 trains were in operation, including 8 additional reinforcement services.
The heaviest operational load occurred after the concert concluded. Between 00:30 and 02:30, a total of 41 train passages were recorded from the Eirini station. Line operations were completed at 03:15 on Sunday morning.
To assist with passenger flow, Metro Lines 2 and 3, as well as the tram, operated on a 24-hour schedule throughout the night. STASY noted that the successful movement of tens of thousands of attendees highlights the critical role of fixed-track communications in serving large-scale events.
