State Audit Institution employees in Montenegro suspend strike

Employees of the State Audit Institution (DRI) in Montenegro have decided to suspend their strike following a government agreement to align their salary coefficients with those of basic and misdemeanor court judges. While the issue of coefficients is resolved for the remainder of the year, workers stated that their long-term material and professional status remains unresolved.

The DRI Union is calling for the implementation of new salary coefficients starting January 1 of next year. They noted that the DRI Senate has already included funds for these new coefficients in the 2027 budget proposal, a request that received unanimous support from the Assembly of Montenegro's Committee on Economy, Finance, and Budget. The union expressed hope that the Ministry of Finance will respect the institution's financial and functional independence during future budget preparations.
