State Audit Office of North Macedonia seeks public input for 2027 audit program

The State Audit Office (SAO) of North Macedonia has begun preparing its Annual Work Program for 2027. The office is inviting institutions, organizations, civil associations, and interested parties to submit proposals for specific institutions, entities, or areas deemed to be of public interest for state auditing.

To enhance transparency and public involvement in setting audit priorities, the SAO will review submitted proposals based on several criteria. These include the SAO's methodological acts, the Strategic Audit Plan 2024–2027, INTOSAI professional standards, OECD/SIGMA methodology, United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, and the National Development Strategy 2024–2044, alongside risk assessments and available resources.

Proposals must be submitted by December 1, 2026, via an electronic web form on the SAO website or in paper form at the office in Skopje. The final annual program will be adopted by the State Auditor and submitted to the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia by the end of December.
