State Bank of India named World’s Best Consumer Bank for 2026

State Bank of India (SBI) has been named the ‘World’s Best Consumer Bank’ for 2026 by Global Finance Magazine. This marks the second consecutive year the institution has received this global recognition.

The awards were presented in Bangkok during the annual meetings of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund. In addition to the consumer banking title, the magazine also named SBI the ‘Best Bank in India’ for 2026.

SBI Chairman Challa Sreenivasulu Setty attributed the success to the bank’s commitment to digital innovation, excellent customer service, and inclusive growth. The bank has significantly expanded its digital footprint, notably through its YONO platform, which has surpassed 100 million registered users. Furthermore, the bank has integrated artificial intelligence into its customer services and opened more than 300 new branches across the country to enhance accessibility.
