State Bank of Vietnam streamlines foreign exchange transaction procedures

The State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) has issued Circular No. 48/2026/TT-NHNN, amending regulations regarding foreign currency transactions between the SBV and authorized credit institutions.

The new regulations aim to align with government decrees regarding the SBV's organizational structure and functions. Notably, responsibilities for guiding foreign exchange transactions have been transferred to the Foreign Exchange Management Department.

A key feature of the circular is the simplification of administrative procedures. The timeframe for receiving and processing registration dossiers for establishing foreign exchange transaction relationships has been reduced from seven days to four days.
