State Lottery trial: Prosecution presents evidence in Skopje court

The trial regarding the ‘State Lottery’ case continued at the Basic Criminal Court in Skopje, with the Public Prosecutor presenting extensive documentation and evidence. The defendants in the case include former First Deputy Prime Minister Artan Grubi and the former director of the State Lottery, Perparim Bajrami.

Evidence presented by the prosecution includes documents related to the establishment of a joint venture with a foreign partner, government decisions, and financial transactions concerning the procurement of video lottery terminals (VLT). The prosecution also submitted agreements from 2013 regarding the founding of ‘State Video Lottery of the Republic of Macedonia – Casinos Austria DOO Skopje’ and a 2022 report from the foreign partner regarding legal security concerns.

Additional materials submitted to the court include the State Lottery’s 2023 work program, expert opinions on the value of VLT investments, and market analyses. The prosecution also referenced the 158th government session held in June 2023, including minutes and conclusions. Financial evidence provided includes foreign exchange orders, bank statements from Halkbank, and records from economic operators such as ‘Eurogames Technology’, ‘Sinot’, and ‘Spedicija MKD’.
