State of Mexico citizens receive ‘De Corazón Naranja’ community awards

Six individuals and collectives from the State of Mexico were honored with the ‘De Corazón Naranja’ award during a ceremony at the State of Mexico Congress. The distinction, presented by the Fundación México con Valores, recognizes citizens whose daily work strengthens and improves their communities.

Among the recipients was the Colectivo Haz Valer Mi Libertad, represented by Martha Aldama Alvarado and María Luisa Montoya García, for their advocacy for those they believe are unjustly imprisoned. Esmeralda De Luna Sánchez was recognized for her leadership in the Alianza Internacional de Mujeres Inquebrantables, focusing on women's opportunities and safety from violence.

Other honorees included journalist Felipe González López for his media career in the Toluca Valley, former footballer Vicente Pereda Mier for his sporting legacy with Club Deportivo Toluca, Javier Medina Davilia for his cultural contributions to the capital, and Elsa Mondragón Cruz for her work as a master clay artisan in Metepec.
