State of Mexico Comptroller reports audit data inconsistencies

The Secretariat of the Comptroller of the State of Mexico has reported significant inconsistencies in its official statistics. Specifically, the agency's records for February 2026 show a discrepancy of 201 audits.

While the official logs indicate seven state-level audits and one federal audit were conducted during the month—totaling eight procedures—the results section erroneously lists a total of 209. This figure matches the total number of audits recorded for March, suggesting a possible data entry error or duplication.

The error has raised questions regarding the reliability of the information provided by the government administration led by Delfina Gómez Álvarez, particularly as the Comptroller's office is the entity responsible for ensuring legality, transparency, and efficiency within public agencies.
