State of Mexico labor official to investigate EDAYO political coercion claims

Workers at the School of Arts and Trades (EDAYO) in Atizapán de Zaragoza, State of Mexico, have reported being pressured to join the Partido del Trabajo (PT) political party. In response to these allegations, the PT leadership in the State of Mexico issued a statement disavowing the reported practices, asserting that no employment or labor rights should be used as leverage for political affiliation.

Norberto Morales Poblete, the State of Mexico Secretary of Labor, has pledged to investigate the claims. He stated that the administration is working to address immediate concerns and will conduct a formal investigation into the alleged irregularities once the initial situation is stabilized.
