State of Mexico launches joint program to make schools safe and inclusive for children

The State of Mexico signed a collaboration agreement between the Secretariat of Women, the state SIPINNA agency and the teachers' union to train educators on gender equality, violence prevention and human‑rights protection. The programme will deliver in‑person, virtual and hybrid sessions covering gender perspective, labor equality, discrimination, gender‑based violence, harassment, inclusive masculinities and child rights. It also includes distribution of a guide for preventing and detecting violence in schools and promotion of the “En Redes No Te Enredes” digital‑safety campaign.

The State Human Rights Commission (CODHEM) highlighted parallel efforts to ensure indigenous children and adolescents grow up free from violence and with full respect for their cultural identity. Officials stressed the need for culturally‑appropriate policies, education, health and social services, and called for community participation to combat discrimination, organized crime and forced displacement affecting these youth.
