State of Mexico municipalities award scholarships and police incentives
In Naucalpan, mayor Isaac Montoya Márquez oversaw the distribution of 36,439 Rita Cetina scholarship cards for primary education, reaching students in 302 schools across the municipality. The ceremony also marked the start of card distribution for high‑school students, with a total of 3,500 cards given to parents, guardians or caretakers. Officials highlighted the program as a right that helps families and supports continued education.
In Nezahualcóyotl, mayor Adolfo Cerqueda Rebollo presented incentives and rewards to 1,617 municipal police officers, allocating seven million pesos for the first half of 2026. The awards recognized extensive police operations that resulted in thousands of arrests, weapon and drug seizures, and over 2,500 security actions, reinforcing cooperation with state and federal security forces.
