State of Mexico recognized for organ transplant coordination
The National Transplant Center (CENATRA) has recognized the Government of the State of Mexico for its significant contributions to organ donation and transplant processes. Four distinctions were awarded to state agencies and organizations involved in the safe and timely transport of organs.
Specifically, the Grupo de Rescate Aéreo Relámpagos was highlighted for its role in transporting 192 organs between September 2023 and September 2026. Through the ‘Ola Verde’ strategy, the State of Mexico participates in 70 percent of these transfers, utilizing specialized personnel and technology to reduce critical transport times.
In Valle de Bravo, local authorities also commemorated National Organ and Tissue Donation and Transplant Day. The event focused on promoting informed family discussions regarding donation and recognizing the solidarity of donor families and the medical personnel involved in the procurement and transplant stages.
