State of Mexico social programs help 1.9 million exit poverty

Social programs implemented by the administration of Governor Delfina Gómez Álvarez have contributed to 1.9 million people in the State of Mexico exiting poverty, according to INEGI data. These initiatives are being highlighted as part of the upcoming Third Government Report.

Key programs include ‘Mujeres con Bienestar’, which provides economic support and health and training services to 700,000 women. Other initiatives include ‘Alimentación para el Bienestar’ for nutritional food baskets and ‘Crédito Colibrí’ to support productive projects and economic autonomy. The state government also provides aid to seniors, people with disabilities, and students, alongside investments in housing, education, and health for vulnerable populations.
