State of Mexico Teachers' Union Ends 2025‑2026 Cycle at Child Care Centers
The Sindicato de Maestros al Servicio del Estado de México (SMSEM) oversaw the completion of the 2025‑2026 school cycle at its 22 Centros de Desarrollo y Bienestar Infantil. The closures saw 314 children graduate while 1,429 advanced to the next level. Ceremonies in the union’s 14 regional districts highlighted the work of secretary‑general Jenaro Martínez Reyes and the executive committee, who thanked families for their trust.
The centers, operating for almost four decades, serve children from three months to four years with early education, stimulation, medical monitoring, nutrition and recreational activities, while supporting the families of teachers. Located across 20 municipalities, the SMSEM announced it will begin preparations to admit a new generation of students for the upcoming cycle.
