State Railway of Thailand suspends services due to flooding

The State Railway of Thailand (SRT) has suspended several train services due to widespread flooding caused by heavy rainfall across multiple regions.

In Kanchanaburi, the Death Railway section between Tha Kilen and Namtok has been closed after water levels reached 4 meters, submerging the piers of the Tham Kra Sae Bridge. This closure affects four train services, including local and ordinary trains. The SRT has advised passengers that they can request full refunds for affected tickets at any railway station nationwide.

Additionally, service disruptions have expanded to the Eastern Line. Flooding on the tracks has forced the temporary closure of several sections, including routes between Ban Kaeng and Sa Kaeo, Aranyaprathet and Watthana Nakhon, and areas near Kabin Buri and Prachin Buri. At least 10 additional train services have been suspended. The SRT is monitoring the situation and advises passengers to use alternative transport, such as the Airport Rail Link or buses, while awaiting updates on track safety.
