State Tribunal overturns fines for Małgorzata Manowska
The State Tribunal (Trybunał Stanu) has formally concluded the case regarding financial penalties imposed on Małgorzata Manowska. The tribunal overturned three disciplinary fines, totaling 9,000 PLN, which had been levied against her between April and June.
The penalties were originally issued because Manowska, while serving as the chairperson of the State Tribunal, failed to convene a full session of the tribunal to address legal questions arising from a motion to recuse judge Piotr Sak in the case involving Maciej Świrski.
Upon reviewing appeals filed by Manowska and her defense, the tribunal ruled that the ability to raise specific legal issues is reserved for the tribunal presiding over the substantive merits of a case, rather than during incidental or accidental proceedings. Furthermore, the tribunal noted that the application of financial penalties is excluded regarding judges in the context of their official duties.
