State University of Moldova launches new criminal law reference volume

The Faculty of Law at the State University of Moldova has hosted the launch of a new legal reference volume titled ‘Codul penal. Codul de procedură penală. Republica Moldova’. Published by Editura Universul Juridic in Romania, the work integrates the national criminal code and the criminal procedure code into a single, updated volume.

A distinguishing feature of the publication is the inclusion of practical annotations following each article. These annotations provide excerpts from significant rulings by the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Moldova, the Supreme Court of Justice, and the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR).

The book was authored by a collaborative team including Professor Tudorel Toader from Alexandru Ioan Cuza University in Iași, alongside USM professors Igor Dolea, Sergiu Brînză, and Gheorghe Reniță. The authors emphasized that the work aims to bridge the gap between legal norms and judicial practice, making it a resource for judges, prosecutors, lawyers, and students.
